Padang City is the capital city of West Sumatra which is located at coordinates between 0 ° 44’00 “and 1 ° 08’35” South Latitude and 100 ° 05’05 “and 100 ° 34’09”. Since 2006 the city of Padang has experienced frequent earthquakes. According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned that the city of Padang had great potential for a tsunami. This has caused unrest for people who live around the coast, so it is necessary to take preventive measures, one of which is to build independent shelters. Shelter Mandiri is an idea or concept of building a shelter by utilizing community self-help, namely by increasing the capacity and function of the mosque or musala building as a place of worship as well as a shelter building. This research was conducted in the Pasie Nan Tigo sub-district, Padang city. This study aims to analyze the accessibility of the tsunami evacuation route to the independent shelter in terms of the estimated time, road facilities, and obstacles during the evacuation. From the observations, Pasie Nan Tigo sub-district has 21 mosques or prayer rooms which are then analyzed in order to obtain 4 mosques / prayer rooms for 4 clusters. The lowest accessibility in terms of time estimation is in cluster 4, because cluster 4 has the longest estimated time where the farthest distance that the community has to travel is 2.5 km and 29.415 minutes. In Pasie Nan Tigo village, there are only evacuation route signs at several points, so that road facilities in this kelurahan are said to be inadequate. The worst condition during the evacuation was a collapsed bridge, however this did not affect the evacuation process, because each cluster already had an independent shelter.
