Analysis of the Level of Community Satisfaction with the Problems of Housing Reconstruction after the 2010 Tsunami Disaster in the Mentawai Islands Regency

Abstract

The earthquake disaster accompanied by tsunami waves that occurred in the Mentawai Islands Regency on October 25, 2010 resulted in casualties as well as damage and losses in various development sectors, which caused all residents living on the coast to be relocated to a place that was safer from the danger of a tsunami. . After years of living in the relocation site, the community began to experience the inconvenience of living in the relocation site due to problems that occurred at the relocation location. in the community with direct guidance from researchers so that the results of the study showed that the level of satisfaction of the people who received the Reconstruction and Relocation Program assistance in the Mentawai Islands area was quite satisfied (Value = 1.91), where this questionnaire was divided into 3 parts, namely Before Implementation, Time Execution and After Execution. The problems that were mostly complained of by the Reconstruction aid recipients were the facilities promised by the government, including clean water and electricity. The community is still waiting for the government’s promise in the form of granting land certificates for relocation areas so that all kinds of land-related problems do not occur. Economic recovery is highly anticipated by the community because with this economic recovery people can improve their lives in a new place. Keywords: Tsunami, Reconstruction, Satisfaction
